Feeling Extra with a Plus Size Prom Skirt from ASOS Curve

I don’t often get a chance to go all-out style-wise – I basically live in black denim – but with a couple of work events coming up in the next few weeks I’m cracking out some beautiful pieces which have been waiting in my wardrobe for a special occasion.

Top  |  Skirt  |  Shoes

Case in point, this stunning embellished tulle skirt from ASOS Curve. I bought it on a total whim last year because I couldn’t resist the lilac-tinged grey, or the scattering of sequins, & I’m so glad I did! It’s a little longer on me than the model, but it has that satisfying weight that only layered tulle skirts can have & I love grabbing fistfuls of the fabric.

I’ve paired it with this super on-brand plisse cami (also from ASOS Curve). It’s a lingerie nightmare but I love the simplicity of the spaghetti straps & the double-layered design. I also like the way the pleats mimic the gathers on the skirt, creating a sense of cohesion that a plain top just wouldn’t have.

As I was shooting it started to rain so I threw on my fiancé’s khaki bomber jacket (from the ASOS Plus Size Men’s range) for a cute play on an American prom night look. On the night I’m thinking of taking along my cropped black bomber jacket as I’ll inevitably get chilly, but you could easily keep it more formal with a sweet cardigan or structured jacket (I’m weirdly obsessed with the Clueless vibes of this one).

Now the weather’s getting warmer, which pieces are you looking forward to bringing out of hibernation & into the sun? Let me know in the comments below.
